Professional judgement made clear, practical and accessible

I believe expertise becomes more valuable when it helps people make better-informed decisions

I've been part of India's taxation and audit profession since 2013—beginning with articleship, followed by professional experience with EY working alongside large listed and multinational organisations across multiple countries, and now leading tax and advisory practice as a Partner at KAVI & Company.

My professional focus includes NRI and OCI taxation in India, property and capital-gains matters, direct tax, tax planning and financial education.

That experience strengthened the discipline behind my approach: understand the facts, test the assumptions and communicate the conclusion clearly.

My professional approach

This is my professional platform for practical explanations, carefully designed public tools and conversations that help people understand the relevant issues before taking action.

Principles behind the work

  • Make complex rules understandable without pretending they are simple.
  • Show the assumptions and limitations behind every indicative result.
  • Protect privacy by processing calculator entries in the browser.
  • Design every resource to work clearly on mobile as well as desktop.
  • Identify when a general answer must give way to fact-specific advice.

Cross-border NRI consultations

Indian tax guidance for NRI property sales

My tax work is limited to Indian tax matters. I have advised NRIs based in Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, primarily on property sales and related taxation under Indian law.

These locations show where the NRIs I advised were based—not overseas offices or advice under any foreign tax law.
